This Course is suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced techniques.
Join us at Orchard Jewellery Workshop in Kingswood and create your own beautiful jewellery. Our weekly classes are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to those with some experience. In these engaging sessions, you'll learn essential techniques while receiving personalised support to bring your own design ideas to life. Set projects can be provided for those who wish, and lots of examples and inspiration can be found in the studio.

What to Expect:
Our weekly courses are structured to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, making them the perfect environment for creativity to flourish.
This will be a skills-based course designed to give you a firm grounding in wireworking techniques and to help you develop your own style. You will develop a basic knowledge and understanding of core wire working skills and gain the confidence to experiment with them, enabling you to carry on creating your own designs at home.

Materials Included:
Your course fee covers access to all necessary tools and basic materials, including copper, allowing you to learn fundamental techniques without any extra costs. For those looking to elevate their projects, your tutor will have a selection of additional materials, tools and resources available for purchase during class, and a list of suppliers will be provided for students who wish to purchase their own materials to carry on their new skills at home.
Skills Covered:
Throughout the course, you will explore a variety of techniques, including:
- Learning about the basic tools, materials and components.
- Basic techniques including trapping, joining, weaving and plaiting.
- Winding metal and creating spirals.
- Creating a Tree of Life and incorporating embellishments and stones.
- Traditional techniques such as Peruvian Wire Work & Viking Weave.
- Creating Rings.
- Finishing techniques for your designs.
- Ample time for questions and answers to support your learning journey.

Pricing
Prices are listed for each session type and, unless otherwise specified, include tuition, use of the studio, tools, and materials listed at booking.
If you wish to work with specific or specialist materials (e.g., gemstones, gold, specific shape or size of metal), please notify Kim at least ten days in advance. Additional costs for materials will be payable before the workshop and are subject to availability.
Kim cannot guarantee specific materials beyond those listed in the session details will be in stock and cannot issue refunds related to unavailable materials.
If you are unsure of your project requirements at booking, you may work with materials available in the studio (typically copper, brass, silver and a selection of gemstones).Health & Safety
Kim prioritises safety. Safety instructions will be provided at the start of each course.
It is your responsibility to read and understand all safety guidelines. You must agree not to use any power or gas tool before you have received a full induction by your course tutor. Non-compliance may result in exclusion from the workshop or course without a refund.Kim reserves the right to refuse participation if a student appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if health issues pose a safety risk. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

Insurance
Kim holds Public and Products Liability Insurance up to £5,000,000.

Refunds are available if you cancel more than two weeks before the scheduled date.

Cancellations made within two weeks are non-refundable.

Kim may facilitate an exchange to an alternative course or date where possible.

No refunds are available for no-shows or late cancellations.
In unforeseen circumstances, Kim may cancel a workshop at short notice. In such cases, alternative dates will be offered or a full refund provided. Kim is not liable for travel or accommodation costs resulting from cancellations.
