Wednesday Morning Silversmithing 9:30am - 12pm 21st February - 27th March 2024
Join Kim at Orchard Jewellery Workshop in Kingswood to create your own jewellery. During these mixed ability classes, you'll learn the fundamental skills and have support creating your own designs.
Our weekly courses are suitable for absolute beginners and those with an intermediate knowledge of the craft, but if you have any questions or want to make sure this is the creative session for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the contact details at the bottom of this event listing.
The workshop's price includes using all tools and basic materials, such as copper & brass, so you can learn the fundamental techniques without additional cost. A selection of sterling silver and gemstones can be purchased in class for those who wish.
Various techniques, from basic bench skills to sand casting and stone setting, can be covered. Handouts and resources are provided to help you continue your new skills at home.
Our weekly silversmithing courses are relaxed and informal sessions tailored to each student's interests; we cover:
- Fundamental Skills such as sawing metal, forming and soldering.
- Advanced skills such as stone setting, casting and reticulation.
- Design development and finding your creative voice.
- Plenty of time for Q&A
