Description

Come and join Kim at Orchard Workshop in Kingswood for a walkthrough of the fundamentals of sand casting.

During this workshop, you will learn how to create your sand mould using a master that you can pick out from our vast collection or bring your own object with you. Advice on suitable objects will be provided after booking.

Once you create your mould, it is time to bring the heat. Learn how to safely melt your silver and pour it into the mould. A process sure to set alight your imagination as you watch the silver melt! Once you reveal your cast, you will learn how to finish and polish your pieces. Leaving you with your very own unique piece of jewellery.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, including absolute beginners, but if you have any questions or want to make sure this is the creative session for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact details at the bottom of this event listing.

Extra technical information, handouts and resources will be provided for jewellers who wish to carry on sandcasting in their own studios.

Our regular Group workshops are open to anyone age 16+. Are you looking for workshops for younger participants? Check out our Private Tuition sessions.
