Peter is travelling all the way from Australia to share his extensive knowledge, and we can't wait for you to experience his expertise firsthand!
This immersive one-day workshop is tailored to enhance and refine your stone-setting skills while mastering the art of claw settings—a technique that can be challenging without expert guidance.
As part of the class, you will learn to set four claw settings on a ring blank with three 6mm round and one square faceted stone.
As an added bonus, in this class you'll also learn to use Peter’s innovative Ezi-Set pliers, making the process of setting small stones easier than ever—even for beginners!
This hands-on workshop provides all necessary materials, including stones, settings, and access to the stone-setting pliers, which you can use during the class or purchase to take home.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced jewellery maker, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to expand their skills.
Some prior jewellery-making experience is recommended to help you effectively apply your new techniques to your own designs after the course.

Agenda
This fun and engaging class focuses on learning the core stone-setting techniques, enabling you to develop your technical skills and understanding, rather than focusing on creating a finished piece of jewellery.
- Learn the considerations we need to take into account when claw setting
- Learn how to use the tools required, safely
- Learn how to cut your stones seat accurately
- Learn how to set your stone securely and level
- Break for lunch
- Learn how to set small stones quickly and securely using Ezi-Set pliers to create settings similar to flush setting, pave and star setting.
- There is also plenty of time for Q&A
Experience Required
This workshop is suitable for beginners and professionals. To get the most from this course, some jewellery making experience is recommended.
What’s Included
For the claw setting, there are four settings on the setting blank. You will learn to set 3 x 6mm round stones and 1 x square stone which are included in the price.
For the Ezi-Set bonus course, 2 ring blanks & a selection of stones will be provided.
Peters Ezi-Set will be provided for use on the day and students will have the opportunity to purchase the, to take home if they wish.
Refreshments
A good selection of biscuits, teas & coffees, dairy milk & oat milk are provided. The studio has a small kitchen, including a fridge, microwave, toastie machine, and crockery, which are available should you want to bring your own lunch. If you have any dietary requirements, please contact us before booking to ensure these can be accommodated. The White Elephant Café, a few minutes away, serves coffee and refreshments from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Located in Kingswood, Bristol, Orchard Jewellery Workshop is one of the best-equipped jewellery studios in the South West. The studio is welcoming, light and airy, with free parking. Transport
Orchard Workshop has free parking and is a few minutes walk from Kingswood Highstreet, which offers multiple bus services.
Arrival:
- Free parking is available at The Kingswood Estate, and on-street parking is nearby. If this is your first visit to Orchard Workshop, please read the full directions, as finding the studio can be tricky.
- Parking may be limited during peak times, so we recommend arriving early. If you arrive more than 15 minutes early, please note that Orchard Workshop and the access gate may be locked.
- The White Elephant Café serves coffee and refreshments from Monday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Cancellations & Refunds
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone this workshop. In unforeseeable circumstances like extreme weather, we will give as much notice as possible. If the event is cancelled or postponed due to low ticket sales, we will give at least 5 days' notice.
In either case, anyone who has purchased a workshop will be offered a full refund and/or a ticket to a future event.
Please note, as this workshop is being run by an international tutor who is travelling to Bristol to deliver the course, refunds can not be given so please double check the workshop dates and details before booking your place. If you are no longer able to make your course, you are welcome to gift or sell it to another participant. Please contact hi@makeit.kim so the course register can be updated.
